Winston churchill
Upon the initial outbreak of World War II, Winston Churchill was appointed First Lord of the Admiralty. After the resignation of Neville Chamberlain on May 10, 1940, Churchill became the Prime Minister of Britain. Churchill played a key role in the early stages of WWII, when it was only Britain opposing Nazi Germany’s plans. Over the course of WWII, his refusal to surrender and his motivational radio broadcasts and speeches made him a formidable figure. Winston Churchill led Britain’s forces until victory over Germany was declared.
