Franklin d. roosevelt
Franklin D. Roosevelt was 32nd president of the United States during World War II. In both a war and an economic crisis at the same time, Roosevelt acted accordingly. The unemployment rate dropped to around 20% as millions of Americans were employed as soldiers and nurses. During World War II, he sided with the allied powers, offering both diplomatic and financial support to China and Britain in order to fight against Nazi Germany. Although Roosevelt wanted the U.S. to remain neutral in WWII, he went against this after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. On December 7, 1941, he delivered his declaration of war on Japan and its allies.
